POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cross Reference & Sourcing Representative works on cross reference requests in order to increase the match rate of what is returned to our customers. This primarily includes assisting in the identification of non-catalog or non-Big Book items for quotation purposes. Additionally work will be needed identifying the equivalent MSC part number through conversion of a competitor, manufacturer or other nomenclature.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· *Locate (source) products or vendors that are non-catalog or special for the Cross Reference Team

· *Identify an MSC equivalent for products or vendors that are non-catalog or special items.

· *Work with the List Management database to convert Competitor, Manufacturer, UPS and other nomenclature to MSC part numbers

· *Add non cross referenced items (not currently in the AS400 database) into the competitive cross reference database.

· *Complete tasks based on timelines mutually agreed upon by the requestor and the RFQ team to meet customer expectations.

· *Make good business decisions when crossing items for the requested quote based on guidelines provided by the project owner

· *Maintains record status and tracking documentation as required

· *Remains up to date with all cross reference functions in order to provide additional resources when required.

· *Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required

· *Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or equivalent is required

· Minimum of two years industry experience is required

SKILLS:

· Basic proficiency in Windows PC as well as the Internet is required

· Is persistent and quality oriented when identifying, sourcing and crossing products

· Proficiency in basic Excel skills necessary to manipulate data for uploading and downloading functions required.

· Proficiency in the AS/400 sales related functions required

· Familiarity with a variety of industrial products is required

· Good communication skills are required.

· MRO subject matter expert in at least one of the following areas preferred:

· Electrical

· Hydraulics / Pneumatics

· HVAC

· Power Transmission

· Pipe/Valve/Fittings

· Metalworking

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).

Compensation starting at $ 36,120.00 - $56,760 depending on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change .
