QA Supervisor - 1st Shift

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance / Inventory Supervisor collaborates with the local Leadership team to improve processes, while ensuring quality and inventory accuracy is maintained and increasing customer service. This associate provides functional, technical or process leadership within the CFC and will lead cross-functional teams to successful completion of strategic initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises Inventory associates – provides tools to allow associates to succeed.

• Key areas of responsibility include, but not limited to, Cycle Counts, Bin Checks, Bin Maintenance/Slotting, Bin Aging, Adjustment / Verification Reviews, Donations, Sets and Regrades.

• Proactively collaborates with CFC Leadership to drive improvements in Customer order and Inventory accuracy within the resident CFC.

• Manage baseline Quality and Inventory metrics for resident CFC that are reported on a weekly basis to the Leadership team.

• Tracks cycle count progress to meet monthly, annual and semi-annual requirements.

• Look for continuous improvement opportunities.

• Identify and investigate nonconformance issues and deploy corrective action.

• Works with leadership to develop best practices and execute the plan.

• Work with the Category Management team to identify quality issues from vendors.

• Manages the inventory cycle count program to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Assigns work to associates and makes adjustments as needed to meet business demands.

• Ensures optimum inventory service level and inventory is correct.

• Utilizes MSC Slotting program to optimize item placement in pick locations to reduce travel time for picking process.

• Coordinates activities for internal and external audits.

• Utilizes Cubiscan equipment to gather accurate item dimensions and weights.

• Work’s cross-functionally with Inventory Control for inventory adjustments that are out of scope.

• Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Supervisor as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, review, and development of associates.

• Performs cost studies to evaluate financial feasibility and cross-functional impact of potential projects.

• Drives engagement throughout the team and facility.

• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.

• Minimum of five years in a distribution environment is required.

• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience is required.

• Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access is required.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with ISO 9001 is preferred.

• Demonstrated data manipulation and statistical quality control skills are preferred.

Other Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license may be required.

• Position may be required travel

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and be able to stand/walk for several hours each day required.
